Block Design

Stage 1: Introduction

A complimentary consultation is arranged at the property that is due to be refurbished. Clients will have the opportunity to meet with a member of the BLOCK team and put forward their initial brief

Stage 2: Strategy

BLOCK make an initial assessment of build costs and feasibility, ensuring the client brief is achievable and affordable from the outset.

Stage 3: Design/Planning

The BLOCK design team will produce digital drawings of the proposed works. If planning permission is required BLOCK works with known architects, party wall surveyors and structural engineers to gain necessary consent and permission on your behalf.

Stage 4: Costing

Keeping the project on time and on budget is every bit as important to us as the aesthetic.

BLOCK works in partnership with reputable building firms to provide detailed quotations, accurate costings and time schedules.

Stage 5: Construction

During construction BLOCK oversees the execution of the Building Contract, performs daily site inspections, manages the build team, monitors progress and ensures all materials are ordered promptly and arrive on time, keeping the project on track. Communication is maintained throughout with our clients, who will receive daily updates from their project manager.

Stage 6: Handover

Once practical works are complete your BLOCK project manager will carry out final inspections and provide any necessary certification and manuals. All snagging details will be fulfilled before final payments are issued.

Typically, our projects are residential refurbishments where our clients would like to drastically improve the property. With projects such as this our input on design, relationships with suppliers, and experience with managing build teams comes to the fore.

Q. Who supplies all the fixtures and fittings needed for the project?

BLOCK source all materials throughout the project that are tailored to our clients’ taste and budget. We have an extensive range of suppliers with whom we negotiate competitive prices. We endeavour to achieve savings throughout the project, removing additional hassle and uncertainty for our clients.

Q. How involved do I need to be?

In many cases our project managers need to be available for site visits and calls with clients both on evenings and weekends. However, it’s not uncommon for clients to be based outside of London and kept abreast remotely with photos and detailed updates.
